Q: What is the difference between a Registered User and a Member?
A: A Registered User has submitted his/her profile and has viewing access to the profiles of both members and other Registered Users. A Registered User can receive messages (prompted by e-mails) from Members and will be able to send {Special Messages} to other Registered Users and Members. Registered Users can only create list of 5 favorites. A Member, in addition to also having full viewing access to the profiles of all members and registered users, has full use of all the features of our website: such as sending and returning messages, using the DatingBBW Messenger facility to communicate in real time on a one-to-one basis with other members. Members can create unlimited lists of Favorites, will receive invitations for events and will be able to join our Partner Programme.

Q: What does it cost to register my own profile and browse the profiles of other members and registered users?
A: Nothing, it is free to register your profile and view the profile of other members and registered users

Q: Can I do a search for all the criteria that I want?
A: Yes, there is no limit to the number of criteria that can be searched against, however, the more criteria are being applied, the thinner the list of results. Sometimes, no results at all are showing, in which case, you need to widen the search slightly and exclude some of the criteria. Best thing to do is: experiment. And find how you can obtain the best possible search results.

Q: What happens when I let my membership laps for more than a week after then next subscription fee is due?
A: Unfortunately, all your messages, profile and photographs will be deleted. As a result you will have to register again and recreate your profile from scratch.

Q: I pay my subscription per month, per quarter or per year, are there any other hidden costs involved?
A: No, apart from your subscription fee, there are no further or other costs for any of the features available as part of the service.

Q: What happens when I receive several messages from people I am not interested in?
A: Always be polite and send a message back to that person saying that you thank him/her for her efforts, but that you have no further desire to continue the communication. If that doesn't help and you consider the attention you are getting to be a disturbance or an annoyance, then there is the option to block that member so that no messages from that member will reach you again.

Q: Why should I add a photograph to my profile?
A: It is a fact that both men & women, but men especially, are very visually orientated. They need to see what you look like in order to decide whether they want to contact you or respond to your message. In spite of the fact that they will never know what an attractive person you really are and that you may be their long-time desired soulmate, you will lose out to people who have their photographs published in their profiles and who, as a result will receive up to 10 times as many messages of interest.

Q: I don't have a scanner or don't know anybody with a scanner, how do I get my photograph on my profile?
A: If you have a camera, dress up for the occasion and ask a friend, relative or colleague to take some photographs of you, make sure you have some of your face and ladies make sure you show some of your figure. Have the photographs developed at any large high street shop (TESCO, ASDA, Boots, Max Spielman etc) and ask for your photos on disk or in JPG format. That means you will receive a CD-Rom with all your pictures, which you can store on your computer and you can attach the best ones to your profile. If you don't have a camera, shop around for one of those disposable cameras for anything between $3 and $8 and have the photographs saved onto disk. (see above).

Q: All the other Dating websites ask for Credit Cards to pay my membership, I don't have a Credit Card, what do I do?
A: DatingBBW accepts in addition to payment by Credit Card, payment by Cheque, by Postal Order or cash (as long as it is sent by registered mail).

Q: I am worried that if I put my picture on my profile, somebody from work or somebody local may recognise me?
A: In order to recognise you, your work colleagues or people who know you locally have to either register or become members of DatingBBW. In which case they are doing exactly the same as you do: using a modern everyday method to find a partner. Something that millions of others also do to attempt to find the love of their lives. You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, when using the internet to find a partner. If the end-result is that you will have found somebody who is the partner of your dreams, why should the method of finding that all-important and currently still illusive person be subject to criticism or ridicule. Don't worry, the chances that somebody will recognise you are remote and if you are being recognised, then the world will be always be divided in those people who admire you for what you do and those who are too small-minded to appreciate that the world has moved on and that everybody has the right to use state-of-the-art equipment and services to fight for their own life and happiness.

Q: I am a Registered User and I have not been contacted for a while and nothing seems to happen?
A: Become pro-active, if you have not got a photo on your profile, get one, if you are not already a member, subscribe and contact some members of the other sex and tell them that YOU are interested in them and that you would be interested in hearing from them.

Q: I am a subscribing member and I am sending messages to people who do not write back, Why do they do that, I find this rude.
A: You may be sending messages to Registered Users who have not decided whether they want to become a member yet. As non-members, they are not allowed to use the return message feature. Nothing stops you however from sending them another message and urging them to become a member so they can take full advantage of all our services.
